Cachassini II

Let us introduce you to Cachassini II, or simply Cash as he’s affectionately known in the paddock. A gelding with the heart of a champion and the attitude to match.

Standing at 16.3hh, this striking athlete was born on May 14th, 2012, and has made quite a name for himself in the jumping world.

His sire, Cachas, brings a pedigree full of top-tier performance genes, while his dam, Varese, adds her own strength and grace to the mix. With a background like that, it’s no surprise Cash has shown such potential in the ring. Cash also has a number of exciting progeny on the ground, proving his versatility as not only a competitor but a producer.

Cash was purchased by Peter Carcary in 2023. Peter, who bases his horses with Stuart and Becky Jenkins' team for part of the year, had high hopes for Cash.

After a successful early career with Sharron Slater and Tom McDermott (including winning the 2022 Australian Senior Showjumping Title), Cash already had quite the reputation for being a fierce competitor in the ring. Since Stuart has picked up the reins, the two have gone from strength to strength with an impressive resume of results including, 1st place finish in the Cairns Masters and 1st in the Cairns Grand Prix in 2024. In addition, Cash also claimed 2nd place in the Brisbane Royal Grand Prix and secured 5th place in the Silver Final at the Tamworth World Cup, solidifying the duo’s status as ones to watch come competition day.

One thing Cash is definitely not shy about is his love for Licorice All Sorts—his absolute favorite treat. If you happen to have a bag of those around, be prepared to have Cash’s full attention.

The GDP Classic will see Stuart return to the competition arena following some time away to heal  a broken leg. We wish Stuart and Cash all the best and we cannot wait to see you both shine in the Martin Collins Australia Grand Prix.
